Woodward Park Suicide – Death: Undisclosed Fresno, CA Man Died by Hanging Identified

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers were called to the north side of the park, just west of Friant Road, after a jogger discovered an unresponsive man and contacted authorities. Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

Officials indicated that the death is being investigated and is believed to be a suicide; however, the investigation remains active as officers work to confirm the circumstances. No additional details have been released at this time.

As a result of the investigation, Woodward Street near the park was temporarily closed to the public. Police have asked residents and visitors to avoid the immediate area while the scene is processed.

The man has been identified as a Black male in his 40s. Authorities have not yet released his name, pending notification of next of kin.
