Shannyn Caldwell of Iron Mountain, MI Dies; Hope Yoga Founder and Radio Host

Iron Mountain, Michigan — Shannyn Caldwell, beloved author, traditional naturopath, radio host, and founder of Healing Season, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and joy. Born and raised in Iron Mountain, Michigan, Shannyn’s life was defined by her commitment to helping others, her love for holistic wellness, and the deep connections she fostered with friends, family, and the community.

Shannyn was a gifted communicator, inspiring thousands of listeners as an on-air personality at Family Life Radio since 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Her passion for guiding others toward spiritual and physical well-being was also reflected in her earlier work as a radio host with Greater Media Detroit from 2000 to 2006 in Ferndale, Michigan.

Beyond the microphone, Shannyn’s dedication to wellness led her to study naturopathic medicine at the Genesis School of Natural Health, earning her credentials as a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor in 2019. She also held a BFA from Wright State University, graduating in 1992, reflecting her creative and artistic spirit.

As the founder and managing director of Healing Season, Shannyn created prayerful, personally crafted programs that combined holistic wellness practices with spiritual guidance, touching lives in meaningful and lasting ways. She also founded Hope Yoga, where she encouraged people to cultivate both inner and outer balance through mindful movement, meditation, and faith-centered practices. Her work always emphasized kindness, healing, and hope.

Friends and loved ones remember Shannyn as a radiant, supportive, and deeply joyful presence. One close friend shared, “My dear, sweet, beautiful friend Shannyn Caldwell is with Jesus in Heaven. God connected us at the perfect time, and we supported each other through tough times, but also had so much fun together. She called me Pastor Princess and introduced me to Taco Tuesday. I am so sad she is gone, but it brings me peace knowing I will see her again in paradise.” Her playful spirit, warmth, and unwavering faith made every interaction with her memorable.

Shannyn is survived by her daughter, Alex Biedenbach; aunt Lynn Cook; aunt Terry Newcomb Masty; niece Taylor Caldwell; and cousins Ben Cook, Denise Johnson, and Marissa Parker. She also leaves behind countless friends, colleagues, and students whose lives were enriched by her guidance, mentorship, and love.
